Midnight Express
Midnight Express is constructed from ninety-two custom LED lighting strips, each ten metres in length and seamlessly affixed to the vast north-facing wave-like roof line.
“Midnight Express” is a creative gesture of a scale to match the spirit and ambition of the return of railway manufacturing to Midland. Sited on the industrial fringe this artwork offers a direct public connection to the sensational machinery of production.
Midnight Express wraps the immense north-facing Elgee road roof of the Bellevue Railcar Assembly Facility. Spanning total a dimension of
190m x 10m this work will be, arguably, the largest public artwork in Western Australia.
