I had the great privilege of working with Anthony Duckworth-Smith who was the most passionate and meticulous producer of this project. We got to know each other well after several six hour drives from Perth to Geraldton.

The film Luminous Dreams was a UWA centenary initiative let by the Australian Urban Design Research Centre in conjunction with the City of Greater Geraldton.

The story weaving traditional and speculative narratives was inspired by Peter Docker's novel The Water Boys and brought to life using artwork from local artists and high school students with the soundtrack simulcast on local FM radio.

It was projected onto the 13 storey grain silo in Geraldton port which provided the backdrop as the foreshore park was transformed into a giant outdoor theatre.

A fictional narrative was created by Western Australian author, Annabel Smith. Storyboards were developed and drawn elements where created in workshop with local high school students. The students workshops were coordinated by Sohan & Mid-West artist Rose Holdaway and including students from:

Mullewa High District School
Nagle Catholic College
Geraldton Senior College
John Willcock College
Geraldton Grammar School
